This short video series was created by the Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence — and anyone who may need an interpreter — to understand how to work with interpreters when seeking help.

B. Interpreter Ethics: Rules interpreters must follow, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality.
C. How to work with an interpreter: tips for clear and effective communication through an interpreter.

Advocates, attorneys, law enforcement, courts, and medical professionals often rely on interpreters, but survivors with limited English may not know what to expect.
